Professional experience
Piotr specializes in legal aspects of real estate trading, both in asset deal and share deal transactions. Piotr’s main area of interest is consulting on construction investments. He specializes mainly in legal aspects of the investment process, including in particular planning and construction issues. Piotr also advises clients on concluding agreements related to the investments’ execution and use of real estate, as well as on litigation before common and administrative courts.
Piotr participated in a number of projects concerning real estate issues, including:
- due diligence projects,
- property purchase and sale transactions,
- M&A transactions,
- investment advisory services (agreements with designers and general investment contractors),
- advisory services concerning investments’ location,
- advisory on obtaining the necessary permits and so-called project management,
- transformation of the right of perpetual usufruct into property,
- reprivatisation claims,
- permits for the acquisition of real estate / shares by foreign entities or permits for the acquisition of agricultural real estate,
- commercialization of commercial, office and warehouse areas,
- advisory on the structuring of real estate sale or development transactions with a private investor.
In terms of selected projects:
- he was responsible for conducting administrative proceedings and obtaining the necessary permits in one of the largest construction projects in Poland, including in particular the proceedings aimed at obtaining an environmental decision, a tree felling permit, a permit for the road exit location, a water permit, a building permit and replacement permits,
- he led the team and advised on the acquisition of a package of office properties in several locations in Poland for a total amount of over EUR 200 million,
- he has advised a number of foreign investors on the acquisition of real estate within special economic zones and on the implementation of construction investments, mainly for the manufacturing and automotive sectors,
- he advised one of the largest companies in the heavy industry in a transaction with the State Treasury concerning the exchange of real estate of over several hundred hectares,
- he led the legal team in creating one of the first comprehensive reports on the legal aspects of REIT real estate funds in Poland,
- he participated in the development of a property management model with an estimated market value of about PLN 1 billion.
Piotr has written many publications related to the widely understood real estate law, including regulations of the legal status of real estate and administrative aspects of the investment process. As a speaker he has also conducted many trainings in this field.
